I'm also left wondering about the danger...
Was anyone eaten? Or become ill from foul water?
Certainly something that makes you go hmmmmmmm.

I am back after being away from blogging for awhile.

These pictures are something else. People are nuts. I also love your series of color themed pictures. What a fun fun idea.

I hope you are having a wonderful summer.

HI all, I have been gone a few days with our kids. These signs were everywhere the day I took the photos. This beach is very near: a lagoon, a power plant, and an outlet for stream and sewage runoff. Add those three combinations and there are several options for the authorities to be conserned enough to warn about the dangers of swimming.

I know this beach. The signs aren't there all the time and rarely in the numbers I saw that day, so do the math.

Why do folks ignore the obvious? Who knows?

Thor and I took the Little Man to the beach last summer (a different trip to a different beach) and found people swimming in a beach where similar signs were posted. We asked a life guard why there were signs and people ignoring them. His reply: "This water is highly contaminated right now from a sewage spill. I don't know why people would swim in toxic levels of bacteria, but they do." Thor and I found a different beach to entertain the Little Man.

People!
